If you are ready to secure a commission slot (and are paying is US dollars) then please go to my Ko-fi page using the button below to order your commission and join the queue. You will be asked for some basic information and you will be able to pay for your commission in full.
If you want to pay in a different currency or would like to secure a slot for a later start date, please send me an email instead at jon@jonstubbington.com
If you haven't ordered and paid through Ko-fi then you will need to pay a 50% deposit. This secures your commission slot and you will then join the queue. I will send you an invoice for the deposit and you can pay via card, Paypal, or Apple/Google Pay (if available).
Once your slot has been reached, I will share a sketch with you and this is your chance to give feedback. Please let me know at this stage if anything isn’t right, from the details of the design to the overall pose and structure of the artwork.
Once the sketch has been approved, it moves into the painting phase. I will produce the digital painting and, again, share this with you for review. At this stage, you are able to request adjustments to the painting, such as colour changes or tweaks to the pose and features. Wholesale changes are not permitted at this stage so please make sure you provide appropriate feedback when reviewing the sketch.
Once the painting has been approved I will request any remaining payment (if you haven't ordered through Ko-fi). Your final, high-resolution file will then be sent to you.
Turnaround times can vary, but typically you should allow up to 6 weeks for your commission to be completed.
I will advise you of the current wait times when you apply and I will always do my best to meet requests for specific deadlines.
If you want to ask any questions before applying, particularly around wait times and turnaround speed, please get in touch via jon@jonstubbington.com.

The terms and conditions for my character art commissions can be found here.
A personalised set of terms and conditions (an Acceptance of Commission document) will be sent to you before we start work and before you send a deposit payment.
This page aims to answer some of the more common questions and covers many of the areas also covered by the Acceptance of Commission document.
You are free to use your artwork for all personal uses. For example, you can share it on social media, have a print made to hang in your home, or use it in your personal online streams.
If you are an author and your artwork features characters from your book then you are also allowed to use the artwork to promote your book. For example, you can use it in social media posts, have it printed on a banner to take to events, or print it on items that are given away such as postcards or bookmarks.
I am more than happy for you to use the artwork to promote your book. After all, I want your book to be a success too.
When posting it online, credit and a link back to www.jonstubbington.com or to my social media accounts is always appreciated, but I do not insist on it.
My standard terms do not include licences for publishing the artwork or for merchandising.
This means that you cannot, for example, use the artwork as a book cover or as an illustration within a book. You are also not allowed to make and sell merchandise featuring the artwork, such as making prints of the artwork to sell.
If you require these additional uses to be added to our agreement then please let me know when you book your commission and I can provide a quote for the additional licences.
Absolutely. If you have purchased a commission on my standard terms and you later find that you want to, for example, make and sell merchandise or include the artwork within a book, then please get in touch and I can provide a quote for adding those licences to our agreement.
I can always be reached via jon@jonstubbington.com
I retain the right to use the artwork as an example of my work. For example, it may appear on my social media accounts or in a gallery of commissioned art on this website.
If the artwork is part of a larger project, such as an upcoming book, and you do not want me to share your finished artwork publicly before the project's release date that’s not a problem. Just drop me an email to let me know.
The artwork will not be created using a generative AI art programme and I do not use generative AI in any part of my process.
As the creator of the artwork, I automatically hold the copyright for the artwork. When you commission artwork from me, I grant you a licence to use that artwork.
The paperwork I send you will confirm which licences you have purchased. If you have any questions about any of the terms, or about the licences you have purchased, please don’t hesitate to let me know at jon@jonstubbington.com.
No.
I am in the UK and a large number of my clients are based in the US and elsewhere. As such, it is difficult to identify and vet the best local printing companies in your local area, and I want to avoid shipping prints internationally.
However, if you are looking to get your artwork printed and have specific size or dimension requirements then please let me know when booking your commission slot. I am very happy to work to those requirements to make the printing process easier.
